Interim CEO
6 months – 4-5 days per week

We have a requirement for an Interim CEO for one of our local authority clients with a focus on sustainable growth in housing, jobs, and community infrastructure.
We would like the Interim CEO to;
- Take the organisation forward to ensure it is fit for the future
- Lead an impressive senior management team and staff in a period of transition, and in complex times
- Reshaping the Council’s finances and ambitious capital investments and the budget setting process for 2021/22
- Deliver their objectives by working through complex partnerships
- Working with Councillors in the lead up to Council elections taking place in May 2021
- Directing an organisation and working at a senior partnership level in addressing both the epidemic and the council’s economic, social and environmental recovery plans
- Being a guarantor of good governance of member and officer processes
- To ensure the council embeds sustainability and biodiversity in all that it does and becomes an exemplar local authority
- To lead on further work to transform the Council, working with and responding to residents and customers. To keep the Council’s services under continuous review, achieving best value and outcomes, while implementing the Council’s policies.
- To initiate and lead on culture change, including delivery of key improvement and transformation programmes which challenge and change the way the Council works to create an innovative ‘can-do’ culture, where staff excel and partners are eager to do business with them.
To be considered for this exciting assignment, you will be;
- An experienced leader with an extensive track record in directing, managing and inspiring a complex, multifunctional public or voluntary sector organisation.
- Experience of working in a political and unionised environment.
- Experience of successfully managing major projects and delivering large and complex investments.
- Evidence of policy and strategic leadership and implementation for a large diverse organisation.
- Evidence of building a high-performing team and leading senior managers and staff to achieve policy outcomes.
- Evidence of successfully leading and transforming an entrepreneurial organisation through major change and generating major additional income to fund essential services.
- Experience in developing effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders and partners, operating and negotiating with commissioned and shared services and joint agendas with neighbouring and outside agencies and supporting wider partnerships.
- Evidence of successfully promoting a more inclusive environment, evidence of leading initiatives to celebrate and promote diversity and inclusion.
