Job Description
We require an Expert Transport Modeller to provide strategic, independent advice on a major project for our Local Authority client. The main focus will be on:
• Traffic modelling
• Traffic forecasting
• Business case development
• Economic assessment and financial appraisal for major transportation projects
The requirement is for someone to undertake the following;
• Provide independent advice on suitability of the Strategic Model for the project including liaison with consultancies and the Department for Transport
• Prepare traffic modelling specification for the full Invitation to Tender
• Advise on business case development including scope and review of the Strategic Outline Business Case
• Review and comment on the draft Invitation to Tender
• Respond to questions and points of clarification raised during the tender period
• Assess returned consultancy proposals in response to the ITT and advice of transport modelling and appraisal methodologies put forward by potential bidders
You are likely to have;
• Relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification
• Significant director level experience in transport economics and business case development
• Significant director level experience in strategic traffic modelling and forecasting
• Significant director level experience in economic assessments and financial appraisals for major transportation projects
• Fully familiar with WebTAG and business case requirements for traffic modelling and business case development to achieve central government funding
• Specialist on the impacts of charging on travel demand
• Ability to work with a range of external partner organisations
• Political awareness and ability to operate in a political environment, including advising Members and senior officers
